The Biggest Comeback for AMD with the 6000 Series Graphics Card

It’s all about the BIG NAVI for AMD. AMD has captured all the existing gaming platforms with their High Performing Graphics Card. AMD has increased its overall performance and is competing with the competition in making high-end, high performing Graphics Cards. After the competition showcased its new line of Graphics Cards, AMD is now ready to showcase their own “Big Navi” to the world. The Zen CPU has come a long way and the improvements that have been implemented on it is truly amazing and astounding. The RDNA architecture of the CPU Die is made mainly for gaming. The RDNA architecture provides 50% more performance over watt then the old GCN structure. And now the new architecture RDNA2 is more powerful than the base RDNA structure. Compared with RDNA, RDNA2 is able to perform 50% more than RDNA and has 100% more performance over watt then GCN structure.

The new and improved “BIG NAVI'' chip is built with 26.8 Billion transistors combined with the leading edge of 7nm Process Technology. “BIG NAVI'' is the first AMD product to incorporate the new RDNA2 architecture. The clear end Goal for AMD is to provide gaming leadership over the total ecosystem. Combining all the technology and resources together, AMD has made the new RDNA2 architecture which is built to be a leading gaming architecture for all types of gamers across all the platforms starting from consoles, PCs and others.

The “Big Navi” has many new performance boosts and features that have never been seen before in AMD chips. The new chip includes features like having high performance compute units, having revolutionary Infinity Cache, new and improved High-Speed Design and better advanced features that will be beneficial for all users. When making these new features and technological improvements one by one it becomes very challenging. But when you combine all these new and improved features together, it becomes harder and harder to manage the power intake of the chip, as more features and technological advancements result in more and more power intake. The Core of RDNA2 architecture is its superb computing performance. AMD has implemented new and improved designs to the architecture like Pervasive Fine-Grain Clock Gating, Aggressive Pipeline Rebalancing and Redesigned Data Paths for Efficient Movement. When all these improvements work together makes the chip 30% more energy efficient making the chip work harder and faster.

4K gaming means that a higher number of Data transfer is taking place in the Graphics Chip. In comparison, 4K gaming requires the almost double data transfer of 1440p. The formula for getting to graphical output is, “The more efficient the memory sub-system is, the higher fidelity the images are and the more frame rate you will get.” AMD has taken a new approach to this issue, by deploying graphics optimized, high density and high speed cache systems that are based on the ZEN3 Cache. This is the new AMD Infinity Cache for the graphics card. This cache system improves the DRAM bottleneck issue, response latency and power consumption. When combining the new Infinity Cache with the 256-bit G6 interface provides twice the performance with low power consumption over the last Gen Graphics Card. High frequency is crucial for gaming performance and that is why RDNA2 is made with a custom library facility and optimized high speed design flow for data that maximizes the frequency of a 7nm processing chip. The Architectural design improvements and the silicon design allow the RDNA chip to provide 30% more frequency compared to the standard RDNA. All these improvements allowed the graphics chip to surpass the main goal and obtain 54% higher performance. RDNA2 also focuses on implementing new hardware features into the existing architecture. Partnering with Microsoft with its DirectX12 Ultimate features, AMD was able to integrate features like DirectX Raytracing, Variable Rate Shading, Mesh Shaders and Sampler Feedback. Including all these, AMD Graphics Card will also support the Microsoft Direct Storage API. This feature will increasingly decrease the game accent load time from SSDs to give better game enhancing ability. When comparing the latest Gen Graphics module with the previous Gen then you can see almost twice the performance from last Gen.

And Finally, AMD has brought in new and advanced features for gamers to use whenever they need it. The 2 main features that AMD has added to its arsenal are the RAGE MODE and Platform Performance Innovation. The Rage mode is a “One Click Overclocking Button” in the software allows you to get the highest possible performance boost due to the extra overclocking facility the Card provides. The second facility is the Platform Performance Innovation or AMD Smart Access Memory and this was only obtainable because of the fact that AMD is the only manufacturer of high-end Processors and Graphics Cards. The AMD Smart Access Memory allows both GPU and CPU to share its Cache memory together to have a greater memory capacity combined. Users are able to physically see and feel the tremendous uplift of the performance being provided. AMD is also providing AMD Radeon Anti-Lag and AMD Radeon Boost that allows you to have reduced latency in-game and have a better edge in competitive gaming.

All in all, AMD has truly made something gamers are looking forward to. If the performance is what they say is then, finally we will be able to see full AMD PC Builds in the near future and the competition now has something to think about and also improve their game too. If all goes according to what has been said, then we “the consumers” will be benefited the most as heated competition brings out the best from the competitors.
