Earlier it was speculated that Intel Core i9 was coming to the market as part of the 9th-generation Intel Core family, but it seems that a major revision of microcode will happen for the new generation of Coffee Lake series to compete with Ryzen 2nd Generation. Considering the news reviled by the retailer of different parts of the world we would presume that Intel’s 9th generation Core family will be available to the market by the third quarter of this year or more precisely October would be a month of release.
According to the Intel’s document, there were seven new processors listed, such as –
- Core i5-9600K: 6 cores, 6 threads, clocked at 3.7GHz to 4.5GHz
- Core i5-9600: 6 cores, 6 threads, clocked at 3.1GHz to 4.5GHz
- Core i5-9500: 6 cores, 6 threads, clocked at 3.0GHz to 4.3GHz
- Core i5-9400T: 6 cores, 6 threads, clocked at 1.8GHz to 3.4GHz
- Core i5-9400: 6 cores, 6 threads, clocked at 2.9GHz to 4.1GHz
- Core i3-9100: 4 cores, 4 threads, clocked at 3.7GHz
- Core i3-9000: 4 cores, 4 threads, clocked at 3.7GHz
Initially, it was assumed that this new Coffee Lake refreshes architecture would avoid quad-core model but traditional core for i3 is there along with advanced six-core processors. This refresh will bring some changes in laptop processors such as 802.11ac Wi-Fi and support for up to six Thunderbolt 3 ports obviously with some technological support from motherboard manufacturers. An interesting fact regarding these 9th-generation processors is, it can slightly boost clock speeds maintaining the same core counts.
