ASRock’s Latest Z390 Motherboards
The Phantom Gaming range with red and black theme has introduced by ASRock to complement the latest release Z390 for Intel's Coffee-Lake processors. But it seems that this series is reserved for high end models and their latest Taichi model has come to the market for new luxurious Z390 chipset. This board has great black and grey looks with PCH cover ready for 8th or 9th Gen processors. It is also featured with dual pin connector for strong VRM support, 12 power phases and WIFI with 2x Gigabit LAN for ethernet, 10 Gbps LAN jack powered by Aquantia.
The most popular new Coffee Lake-S refresh series processors are very gaming friendly with the support of fast graphics cards. These Intel’s new 9th gen processors can achieve Turbo frequencies up to 5 GHz that gives a clear advantage over AMD. Focusing on the board Z390 Taichi Ultimate has four DDR4 DIMM slots reaching the frequencies of 4200 MHz in OC mode with its 12 IR Digital VRMs. The storage facility includes around eight SATA III ports with three M2 slots. Moreover, it has three Gigabit jacks and WIFI connectivity of 2x2 802.11ac with 1.73 Gb/s throughput. This board can easily have a high-end position in its own segment with the additional feature of Realtek 1220 having NE5532 headset amplifier and Nichicon capacitors.
The Premium Z390 Aorus Xtreme WaterForce Motherboard by GIGABYTE
Earlier GIGABYTE announced its premium Z390 Aorus Extreme WaterForce motherboard featuring E-ATX form factor, 10 gigabit NIC and 16-phase power facility. The surprising element of this board is built-in all-in-one monoblock for liquid cooling at very convincing price.
Only difference between Z390 Aorus Xtreme WaterForce & Z390 Aorus Xtreme model is the all-in-one integrated monoblock that extended from the rear panel cover all the way across to the Z390 chipset heatsink. LGA 1151 socket and an overkill 16-phase IR Digital power facility lays beneath the RGB monoblock. This optimum power supply is controlled by an IR35201 where every phase is using a doubler. For complementing the overclocking facility this model has total of two 8-pin 12 V ATX power inputs that allows the to extract as much power as required. A unique feature of this board is dual network controllers with an Aquantia 10GBase-T and Intel networking, matched with a Realtek ALC1220-VB HD audio codec that complemented by an ESS Sabre 9018K2M DAC and OPA1622 OP-AMP. Considering the storage, it has compatibility with three M.2 slots and six SATA ports. Comfortable three full-length PCIe 3.0 slots with M2P M.2 SSD slots are located. They have included 24-pin 12 ATX power connectors with attractive solid pin housing for this high-end overclocking board and simultaneously four memory slots support up to 64 GB at maximum 4400 MHz speed. For matching extreme nature of this board its rear panel consists of two Thunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C ports along with four USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and two USB 2.0 ports and a HDMI port.
The Supreme Z390 Motherboards of ASUS’s ROG, Strix, TUF Gaming, Prime, and WS
After almost a year later of Z370 a reproduction is required to cope up with Intel’s 9th Generation processors that has maximum eight cores and 16 threads with the speed of 5GHz. So, the company has developed a complete lineup of boards for five families to match up with upgraded streaming, recording, and simultaneous chatting performance. This new series have targeted different segments such streamlined alternatives in ROG Strix, essentials within the budget in TUF for gamers, more mature signature package from Prime family and WS is suitable for workstations and prosumer builds.
The amazing feature AI Overclocking makes automatic tuning faster and smarter in this series. It optimizes the configuration according to each system through profiling the CPU & cooling. With a specific algorithm it can rate the quality of the silicon where the chip lands on. This AI can also control the temperatures, fan speeds, and power draw to evaluate cooling performance. To match up with the increasing memory frequencies these boards are featured with Optimem II that adds a dedicated ground plane and surrounding ground trace with via stitching to reduce interference for the traces connecting the CPU and memory slots. This facility also routes traces through different PCB layers to cut down on crosstalk and these changes combine with T-Topology trace layout to enable DDR4 speeds up to 4266MHz. Due to the increase of CPU cores and extreme overclocking these boards need higher cooling management such liquid cooling so all Z390 motherboards have one AIO pump header installed. Most innovative Aura Sync facility provides synchronized RGB lighting options for components and peripherals from ASUS and the partners to personalize your setup. Considering the connectivity Z390 lineup have minimum two M.2 slots with Intel Optane ready for dual NVMe SSDs without connecting any cables. For ethernet connectivity Intel Gigabit WiFi is available on ROG, Strix, and TUF Gaming models and virtual controllers present on every Z390 boards but by adding Aquantia controllers on ROG Maximus XI Extreme and Formula take networking to the next level.
It would be a great experience to have these latest boards to build your desktop at optimum price. Before purchasing please identify the correct board of your requirement by studying the details for the satisfaction.
