Good news coming in for the gaming community. Nvidia declared the release date for their new lineup of RTX 4000 series Graphics Cards which is available from October 12th, 2022. The announcement came officially from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at GTC 22. Nvidia GeForce RTX Graphics Cards came into the market in 2018 and only scored flying colors since then.

The previous generations were RTX 2000 and RTX 3000 having codenames ‘Turing’ and ‘Ampere’. Buzz in the tech industry is that the new architecture, “Ada Lovelace” will show an unmatched boost in gaming performance. Counting overall efficiency, it is predicted to do at least 50% better than the previous models. Leading GPU brands like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, and ZOTAC are excitedly waiting to stay ahead in manufacturing.

Nvidia kept teasing us for more than months. The last flagship model of the lineup, RTX 3090 Ti came to consumers in April 2022. With July approaching, the gaming and PC industry anticipated an announcement for RTX 4000 series around August 2022. Due to the global crisis for graphics cards, Nvidia was unable to meet up the demand. Then came the crypto cashing that affected the GPU demand as well. With that, having an excessive pile of inventory for the 3000 series led to a prolonged price adjustment for the company.

RTX 4000 GPU Specs and Models

However, they are back in business, and yes, with promises that have already set fire regarding performance. Two new models of the 40xx range will be available upon launch. These are the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4080. Nvidia disclosed significant information including architecture, interface, core count, compatibility, and memory. Along with those, we have the founder’s edition to look at. The new airflow design will significantly enhance cooling, though Nvidia didn’t reveal much of the details yet. Let’s take a deeper look at the models and find out why the staggering claim on performance -

RTX 4090 Specs In Details

RTX 4090: The card will be available in the markets starting from 12th October. This card incorporates a more than 45% increase in CUDA Cores, putting it next to the RTX 3090Ti. Nvidia's claim of a 50% boost is solid as the preceding 3090Ti had some 10,496 CUDA Cores and RTX 4090 has an unbelievable number of 16,384 CUDA Cores. This sheer number of processing cores will give a base speed of 2.23 GHz and boosts to up to 2.52 GHz with optimal powers.

On a second note, unofficial rumors say the card will be capable of going as high as 3.1 GHz. With that amount of juice flowing in, the gaming experience will go sky-high. This means the frame rate will also step up in line with everything else.

What about simulation and Ray Tracing? The 24 GB GDDR6X card comes with 1,321 Tensor-TFLOPs, 191 RT-TFLOP, and 83 Shader TFLOPs. Those numbers mean your graphics processor can handle visuals for both gaming and machine learning with amazing data-crunching features. The GPUs will have PCIe Gen 5 interface with 16-pin arrays. Having said that, we’d like to remind you that the MetaVerse launch is on the way in 2024 and we can almost say that RTX 4090 will set standards for the upcoming virtualization requirement.

Nvidia suggests ATX 3.0 PSUs that will feature all the next-gen computing things like 16-pin PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR power connectors. Developed by Intel, these PSUs will be able to work along with Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. Experts suggest users couple a PSU of a minimum of 850 Watts and 1000 W for overhead needs. RTX 4090 price will be around $1,599, give or take a few hundred dollars.

RTX 4080 Offered In Two Variants

RTX 4080 on the other hand will arrive in November 2022. For around $1299 at most, users expect it to be the best deal from the high-tier spectrum at a personal level. Vendors expect these cards to be the sweet option for their semi-premium customers. The reason working behind this is that this range will be available in two memory sizes, initially. There will be a 12 GB variant and one with 16 GB memory.

RTX 4080 12 GB: Loaded with 7,680 CUDA cores with a base clock of 2.32 GHz, this card can boost up to 2.61 GHz with regular power. This is another perk for those who want more clock speed. Bearing this in mind, the press says that this GPU will work 2 to 4 times faster than the 3080 Ti version. Nvidia declared the price will be initially around $899 and later adjusted.

With 639 Tensor-TFLOPs, 92 RT-TFLOPs, and 40 Shader-TFLOPs, the card will give bleeding graphics and marvelous frame rates. No doubt, productivity work like visual production and 3D modeling can be done with great flexibility. Manufacturers recommend at least 700 Watt Power Supply for this card to run best.

RTX 4080 16 GB: This variant is the second high-end version of this range which is just not an addition to the memory. This card also features amazing specs that are bound to grab everyone’s attention. Around $1299 it offers more agility and versatility than its 12 GB sibling. The CUDA Core count is 9,728 which gives a base clock speed of 2.21 GHz with a ceiling of up to 2.51 GHz when overclocked.

Embodying 780 Tensor-TFLOPs, 113 RT-TFLOPs, and 49 Shader-TFLOPs of power, the card surpasses the 12 GB variant in every possible way for ultra-high-definition graphics and processing power. We recommend at least an 800 Watts Power Supply to run the card.

RTX 4000 Is Gaming And Future Ready

Both of the new RTX 4000 series cards with variants of the 4080 section offer great Price Per Core. The cards will be initially available at data centers, and retail PC customers will have the chance to get them in hands later in the month. PC Components have entered the new generation already. Data rates like GDDR6X and architectures like Lovelace will change your VR experience in near future.

PCIe Gen 5 interface and frequencies spiking to 50%+ means unmatched graphics and analyzing power than ever before. From late 2022 to 2023 we can expect that virtual reality and the associated tech industry will change our sense of computing. Now, it’s only a matter of time and it is wise to be ready with the next-gen techs as you go.
