The image of AMD is always a “Budget King” for us as it can provide the best price & performance ratio. In some cases, these processors might bottleneck but an expensive Intel processor of same range can never catch up the performance of AMD.
It is true that Intel is a bit faster than AMD in single core performance, but they have proved that they are not that far behind. In practical scenario, they have almost cover up this gap and touched Intel in this area.
If we compare side by side, the price you are paying for a 6 core / 12 thread Ryzen processor you will have an Intel processor of 4 core / 4 thread at the same price. In these two, the single core performance is neck to neck, but AMD is way too advanced in multitasking capability. Ryzen are more efficient in having heavy load such simultaneous tasking, rendering and many.
For having any Intel K series unlocked processors with overclocking potential and pair it up with expensive motherboard we need to spend huge money. On the other hand, AMD came with a different strategy of unlocked processor from the box and cheaper motherboards. And it would be a win-win situation for an enthusiast.
Regarding cooling issue, previously AMD was generating more heat than Intel and heat management required massive cooler that created lot of noise. But presently they have overcome from this and thermal management are not questionable anymore. Parts availability is as same as Intel such coolers, brackets, custom coolers and many.
As a desktop user you must choose your processor wisely. If you are in need of a gaming-based budget friendly desktop than you should choose AMD as your option but if single core operation is enough for you and budget is not a big deal than you can go for Intel.
